3/28/13 This project could go two ways: either you chose a work of art and integrate your own likeness into it, or the more difficult option, study an artists entire body of work and make a completely new piece, emulating their style. I chose Maya Kulenovic, who works almost exclusively in portraits, so I had to try and replicate her style. She works in many layers of glazed oil paint, while I worked in acrylic, so there is a slight gap between the likenesses. I learned that self portraits do not always have to be beautiful as long as they express you, and the usefulness of shadows. There is a link to my Prezi here |
